    Abstract. It is not easy to speak of “trade restrictions” in East-West relations without referring to the history during the last decades. The study of the evolution of trade relations between the two groups of countries, mainly US and USSR, helps understanding of the present situation. In this book a team of scholars analyzes the interaction of economic and political forces at three interlocking levels — international, regional, and national.
